In Loving Memory of
In keeping with Bill's wishes there will be no funeral service.
William “Bill” Munro of Mozart, SK passed away on July 22, 2019 at the Golden Acres Lodge in Wynyard, SK, at the age of 92. He was born on January 7, 1927 to Thomas and Penuel Munro in Little Killdrummie, Scotland. The family immigrated to Canada in 1930, first settling in Rockglen, SK. A few years later they moved to the family farm near Mozart, SK.
Bill started farming with his parents at an early age and took over the family farm in 1958. He continued to farm until he retired in the early 90’s but remained on the family farm until he and his partner Millie moved into their suite at Maple Grove.
Bill was a strong-minded man and enjoyed living on the farm. He was proud of his garden and was well known for his potatoes. Bill and Millie spent many happy hours fishing at Greenwater Lake, taking trips and playing cards in the winter. Bill was a unique individual who will be remembered as a person who liked a good conversation and visiting over a strong cup of coffee.
Bill was predeceased by his loving partner Millie Petersen, his parents Thomas and Penuel Munro, his brothers Alex (Peggy), Thomas (Ellen) and Robert (Ella) and his sister Penuel (Claude) McKay.
He is survived by his sisters Margret (Harry) Doherty and Christine (Alfred) Broad and sister-in-law Ella Munro. Uncle Bill will be fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews.
