It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes Kostiuk announce her passing on January 7, 2019. Agnes was born in Wynyard, SK on October 21, 1941 to Mike and Caroline (Popadynetz) Kwasney. She was the oldest of 4 children and attended Evelyn country school.

Agnes worked various jobs as a waitress before working at Crawford’s Chicken Plant. She worked there for many years before joining her dad as custodian of the public school in Wynyard. Agnes later took on this job by herself.

Agnes married Stan Kostiuk in 1958. They always made sure there was a large garden so she could reap the bounty of it’s produces. She enjoyed canning, especially making pickles and could be found playing Bingo every chance she could. She spent a great deal of time with her parents during these years as well. Stan passed away in 2004 but Agnes later found friendship in Barrie Gliddon who she spent the last 10 years with.

Agnes moved to the Wan-Dor Inn in Foam Lake where she spent two years then moved to Golden Acres Lodge in Wynyard which is where she spent her last year.

She enjoyed painting Ukrainian Easter Eggs and making perogies and cabbage rolls. She was a wonderful cook; people who never had seconds always found themselves going for a second helping. She was always dabbling in knitting, crocheting and embroidery and was an excellent self-taught seamstress. In her younger years she made lots of clothing for her family and friends. Agnes had lots of friends and enjoyed spending time with them all, visiting and playing three-spot.

Agnes was predeceased by her parents Mike and Caroline and her husband Stan. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her partner Barrie and his children, sisters Mildred (Harold), Adalice (Edward) and Jeannette (Gordon) as well as an uncle, aunts and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and cousins.
