Alice Hubelit

November 6, 1923 — May 16, 2017

Alice Hubelit passed away at the Rising Sun Long-Term Care Home in Black Diamond, Alberta on May 16, 2017 at the age of 93.  Alice was predeceased by her husband Eli (Edward) in 1979, and her seven brothers and one sister.    Alice will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Beverly Moldowan (Ernie) and Melody Minken (Fred), her grandchildren Rhett Moldowan (Katerina), Alyssa Gilbert (Kyle), Clark Minken (Jillian), Adrianne Jorgensen (Devon) and her great grandchildren Evan and Carter Gilbert.  Alice was born on a farm south of Sheho.  After losing her mother at an early age, Alice helped her father raise and care for her brothers and sister.  In 1945, Alice married Edward and settled on a farm a mile away from where she was born.  They sold their farm and moved to Foam Lake in 1972.  In 2014, Alice moved to Black Diamond, Alberta (Calgary area) to be closer to her daughters.  The family would like to thank the staff at Rising Sun Long-Term Care in Black Diamond for the devoted care they provided to Mom and for the compassion shown to Mom and her family during her last days.

Funeral services will be held at the Foam Lake Legion Hall, 404 Royal Street, Foam Lake on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Reception to follow at the Foam Lake Legion Hall after the graveside ceremony.  Condolences may be forwarded through Tompkins Funeral Home at www.tompkinsfuneral.com.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Alice to the Sheep River Health Trust (Rising Sun Long-Term Care), 11 Cimarron Common, Okotoks, Alberta T1S 2E9.  Phone (403) 995-5400.
