Andrew Templeton

Andrew (Andy) Templeton will always be remembered for his kind heart, his smile and the way he made people feel that they were always the centre of his attention.
Andy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He lived his life under the simple premise of being kind, respectful and honest to all those encountered.
Andy was born and raised in Kelvington. It was there that he met his bride Shirley Clark. Just three days prior to his passing, he and Shirley had celebrated their 64th anniversary.
His accomplishments were many as Andy worked in the community for over 40 years. Along with his brother Bob, they owned and operated the John Deere dealership from 1957 to 1978.  He was known by many in the farming industry, not only in Kelvington but also the surrounding communities. He was always very appreciative of the long- lasting friendships and relationships that resulted from that time. After that, he went on to work with his son Scott in the local General Motors dealership and ran that until 1982. In the years following, Andy worked back at the John Deere for a few years and then as a groundskeeper at the golf course before he retired.
Andy, like his father, had a love for being outside working in the yard or garden. He took great pride in having a well-groomed lawn and yard.
Throughout his life, Andy believed strongly in the importance of giving back to the community. He was a town councillor for many years, he was a charter member of the Lions club when it was first established in town and was active in both the golf and curling clubs.
Andy was most proud of his children and grandchildren and was always there when they needed him most.  Being the only sibling to get married, he was proud of how his family has grown. What was just two has resulted in a family of over 31.
Andy will be missed by everyone. He was predeceased by his father and mother, James and Agnes Templeton; his sister Martha; and brothers, John, Robert and Edward.
Left to mourn are wife Shirley; children, Patricia (Mike) Weisgerber, Scott (Caren), Pam (Rob) McKay, Trent (Elaine) and Dwight (Lori); grandchildren, Brodie (Laurel), Tyler, Katelyn (Franklin), Alisa, Braden (Alysia), Keegan (Lisa), Conlin, Andrew (Pryia), Shane, McKenzie, Zach, Shaina and Ciana; and great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Miles, Tannah and Memphis.
Andy’s father was a Scottish immigrant
and it was a heritage he held dear to his heart.
It only seems fitting that his life be summed up as follows:
Gaelic Saying:
Cha bhithidth a leithid ami riamh.
English Translation:
His equal will never be among us again.
