Annette was born the second child and oldest daughter of Raoul and Marie Clavelle (Brochu) in Viscount, Sask. She had the honour of being delivered by her father as directed by the doctor who was under the weather that day. For all of the subsequent deliveries; and there were 11 more, Dad made sure mom was safely ensconced close to the hospital in advance of the big day.
Life on the farm was a full one, as she took on the role of big sister and second mom for the years that followed.
Following graduation and secretarial school, she worked and lived in Lanigan she spent many years at the Lanigan School Division office. Her trips home on the weekends were greatly anticipated by her younger siblings. In the early 80’s, she made a job change and moved to Saskatoon, and in 1984 moved to Rama to help a friend run the local hotel. It was in Rama that she met the love of her life, Ron Mocyk. They were married on August 16, 1986, outside in the beautiful Grotto at Rama. Together they farmed and operated Rama Family Foods until 2007. She loved spending time at the farm with Ron who continued to farm after his father’s retirement.
She spent her retired years in Rama happily enjoying the people and small town life. She took an active part in starting PALS in Rama (Performing Arts and Leisure Society), where she spent many hours helping and visiting.
In her younger years, she enjoyed travel and made trips to Mexico, Hawaii and Trinidad to name a few. She loved singing, reading and made many beautiful needlework projects. She loved her flowers which is still apparent in the front window of the old store.
