Obituary
Arthur Clement Lamoureux was born August 19th,1937, to Arthur M and Aglaee (Brisson) Lamoureux in Rose Valley Hospital.
He was the youngest in the family by 12 years and he was affectionately referred to as ‘Ti’ Ture’ (Little Art). The first few years of his life, he grew up in the house down by the slough, then later moved into the new farmhouse. He started school at the age of seven at Barrier Lake School. He then attended St. Front School and later spent one year at Gravelbourg School. After he left home, he worked in various places, one of the places was the E.B Campbell Dam (Squaw Rapids Dam) near Nipawin. It was here that he met his future wife, Doreen Bonthoux in the spring of 1957. They were married April 2, 1959, at the Battle Heights Hall near Carrot River. After they were married, they moved back to the Lamoureux homestead.
They were blessed with four children: Maureen in 1959, Michelle in 1963, Jeffrey in 1967, and Elizabeth in 1969. They had a mixed farm, and he was a custom grain and livestock hauler for many local farmers in the area. Once Doreen became ill from Huntington’s Disease and was moved into a care home, Art moved to Saskatoon. There he met his long-time companion, Margaret Lockie. They lived in the city for a few years, then moved to an acreage just outside the city. There they had a beautiful yard and an assortment of animals to keep them busy. In 2007 they sold the acreage and moved to Sunset Estates. They became a part of the community there and made some very close friends.
Art always had a passion for driving, especially semis. He owned and operated his own trucking company and had up to five trucks of his own. He worked highway construction, hauling asphalt and gravel, did snow removal, delivered equipment, and drove pilot truck for Redhead Equipment. He also hauled anhydrous and drove tour bus. He loved his trucks and took pride in his fleet.
Art was always a very social guy; he loved to visit and would talk to anyone. He was always up for a game of cards, especially Kaiser. After Margaret passed, soon Art retired and moved to The Elizabeth (an assisted living facility) in Humboldt. Later he moved to the Quill Plains Lodge in Watson. Here he received excellent care from the kind and supportive staff.
Art passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 88 years. Art was a very loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Arthur will be lovingly remembered by his family:
