Brenda Bakken

April 11, 1983 - March 22, 2016

Brenda Jacqueline Bakken was born on April 11, 1983, in the Tisdale Hospital to Bruce and Ivy Bakken, and the oldest sister to Kim, Chelsey, Ashley, and Kyle. She attended Archerwill School from kindergarten to grade 9 and then went to Rose Valley High School for grades 10 to 12. Brenda took a year off before going to Marvel in 2003. She worked at Trends Hair Studio in Nipawin for five years while she finished her apprenticeship and received her journeyman certificate. Brenda bought a house in Archerwill and moved back home to open her own salon "Beautiful Creations." In September 2013, Brenda went back to school for a degree in education from Regina Campus through Cumberland College in Nipawin. She would have been a great teacher; she had all those years teaching her sisters and brother how to get in and out of trouble.
Brenda took the responsibility of being the oldest sibling with pride. She loved her sisters and brother with all her heart. They did everything together from chores at the barn, hauling bales, quadding, going to country dances to having a good time at the bar and hanging with friends and family.
Brenda loved her animals. She had her dog Buddy; two cats, Otis and Nacho; llamas, Nemowai, Paris, Lily and Bonsai; also two horses, Stance and Duncan. She would spend many hours with her pets, bathing, grooming and training or just cuddling with whichever animal was available.
Brenda met a great guy last summer, Corey Paschke, a fellow horse lover, cattle farmer and trucker. When the first date was over, Ashley asked Brenda how it went. They were to meet in the A&W parking lot. Brenda said that if he thought he was taking her to supper at A&W then it was over before it had even started. Lucky for Corey his taste is a little above A&W - date #1 was a success! The romance grew and blossomed during the summer, fall and winter. They were unofficially engaged and were excited about getting married and starting a family.
Brenda was predeceased by her infant sister Amber, Grandfather Burger Bakken, and Grandfather Jack Fletcher.
Brenda leaves to mourn her parents, Bruce and Ivy; sisters, Kim, Chelsey (son Jonathon), Ashley (husband Ryan, children Hudson and Emily): brother Kyle (girlfriend Joanne): her boyfriend and soulmate Corey Paschke: her special Uncle Lyle, Grandma Muriel Bakken, Auntie Elaine, Grandma Marion Fletcher, Uncle Iean (Cindy), Auntie Iris (David), Uncle Ivan (Marlene), Uncle Corey, cousins, Rick and family, Karen and family, James and Brooke. Brenda had many friends. She touched the lives of everyone she knew.
