Obituary
Delmar Olaf Odelein was born August 7, 1946, in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, to Olaf and Rhoda Odelein. He attended school in MacMahon and Quill Lake schools, where he completed his grade nine year. Following that, Delmar worked on the rigs for a few winters and spent his summers farming grain and livestock with his dad.
He married Margaret Ingram on December 30, 1965. Together, they had three children: Sandra, Dwight, and Tony. They moved around a bit, never leaving the Quill Lake area, until they settled on the Odelein family farm. There, Delmar continued to farm and raise cattle.
Delmar truly loved the farm and spent very little time away from it. His notable trips included Cuba, Toronto, and Vancouver; however, he was always glad to return home following each one of them. In 2006, he and Margaret retired from farming and moved into Quill Lake. He spent the years following driving around in his Mercury, keeping up with family and friends, and helping on the family farm as much as he could.
Delmar passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in his home, with his wife Margaret and their family by his side.
He was predeceased by his father, Olaf; mother, Rhoda; sister, Mabel Kinzel; father-in-law, Bryce Ingram; mother-in-law, Marjorie Ingram; and granddaughter, Jessica Allen.
Delmar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret, their 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren: Sandra (Darrel) Allen - Cienna (Mark) Magnusson and their children Dalton, Jesslynn, and Amiya; Nathan (Raelene) Allen and their daughter Rynlee; Morgan Allen; Carley (Braden Knittig) Allen and their daughter Maria. Dwight (Tanya) Odelein - Sabrina (Reid) Rustad and their son Elijah; Sydney (Mitchel) Knaus. Tony (Ryhien Fielder) Odelein.
A graveside service for Delmar will be held at a later date.
