Dennis Nygren was born June 5th, 1941, to Oscar and Ida Nygren. He grew up in Nora Saskatchewan before moving to Parson B.C.  He had 5 siblings Lorne, Royce, Wyonne, Benita and Donny.

Dennis Married Jean Roberts from Parson B.C. May 23rd, 1964, then moved back to Saskatchewan in 1965. Dennis worked for Jim Nygren moving and building houses for a couple of years before going to work in Hudson Bay falling timber. Dennis and Jean had 4 children Vonna, Paul, Karen and Cameron.

His strong faith guided him throughout his life. He never attended church but made the great outdoors his church. His passions in life were trapping and horses.  He taught whoever wanted to learn about trapping or breaking in a horse either to ride or drive. Even though he had cattle for years, the horses had a special place in his heart.

Dennis thoroughly loved farming, he found peace caring for his animals. Especially when it was springtime, and the horses were foaling.  He also loved his dogs and trained them to do whatever he wanted them to. The highlight in Dennis’s younger years were when it was berry picking time. Cause mom would make jar after jar of canned raspberries, rhubarb and saskatoons. He loved mom’s canned fruit and could eat a whole jar by himself with cream and peanut butter sandwiches.

Most in life, Dennis cherished getting together with his family. Holding his grandchildren on his knees and telling them stories with a twinkle in his eye. He would perform his magic trick and pull a quarter out of their ears! As he had done this countless times with his own children. He loved telling stories about his travels and the people he met around the kitchen table. Humour was a big part of his life; he loved making people laugh. During his life he always demonstrated his appreciation for the small blessings in life.

Dennis is predeceased by his parents Oscar and Ida Nygren, his Brothers Lorne and sister-in-law Mary Nygren, Royce Nygren and Dennis’s twin Donny Nygren, Sister Wyonne Dubick and brother-in law Orest Dubick , Brother in law Arnold Josephson.
