Doreen was the eldest of three children. She was born in Arborfield, Saskatchewan, on September 10, 1939, to Ronald and Ethel Dutton (Thomas).
Doreen had two siblings, Marlene (William) Abrook and Marvin (Jane) Dutton, both of Saskatoon.
In 1944, Doreen and her family moved to Hendon. For many summers Doreen would go back to Arborfield and spend time with her Grandma Dutton and Aunt Ivy.
On October 31, 1958, Doreen married Ralph Rumpel. In '59 they welcomed their daughter Terri and in '61 their son Travis was born.
Doreen and Ralph made their home in Hendon, raising their children, working in the yard, and enjoying being part of the Hendon community.
Doreen started work as an aide at the Wadena Hospital and shortly after, it was suggested that she take a lab-training course and so her career began. Doreen continued her schooling, taking the x-ray and cardiology courses.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Ralph; granddaughter Kyla; parents, Ron and Ethel Dutton; parents-in-law, John and Martha Rumpel; brothers-in-law, Frank and Conrad; sisters-in-law, Florence (Cyril), Anella (Henry), Martha, known as M.E. (Ernie), Eileen and Myrtle.
Doreen leaves to mourn her passing daughter Terri (Ron Tjernstrom and son Rayne; Gerad (Kyla's partner); great-grandchildren, Jordin and Madison Norman; son Travis (Noreen), Tyler and Kellie (Tyson), great-grandchildren, Rylan and Aliyah, and Trent (Brittani); sister Marlene (Bill) Abrook; Marvin (Jane) Dutton; in-laws, Adeline Thomas, Werner Rumpel, Charles Pachkowsky; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
