Elaine was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan, on June 14, 1933. She was the daughter of Noel and Jennie Harris and the eldest of two children. She grew up in Paswegin and started school at North Quill at the age of 4, later attending Paswegin School and graduating from Wadena Composite High School.
She married Clifford Jones of Wadena on July 12, 1950, and together they started farming. Elaine loved the farm life - from spending time in her beautiful flower gardens to her vegetable gardens to cooking big meals for the family and hired men. One of Elaine's favourite pastimes was going to horticulture shows, where she won many awards. She was also an active member of the Paswegin Tiger Lily Neighbourly Club, and she served as a secretary for minor sports for many years. She had many hobbies: scrapbooking, making beautiful quilts, going to craft shows with her sewing, and she fully enjoyed going to the seniors' center or senior dances with Don.
Traveling was always a highlight for Elaine. She took frequent trips with Clifford in the spring to B.C. or to the U.S., a few cruises, and later on trips down East or to B.C. with Don.
Christmas was probably her favourite holiday. She loved to decorate every corner of the house, the meals she prepared were fit for royalty, and her love for shopping was evident in the special gifts she chose for her family. Elaine loved her family unconditionally and treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She kept herself very busy attending as many of their activities as she could.
Elaine was a gracious woman who was loved by many. She will be greatly missed and remembered always.
She was predeceased by her parents, Noel and Jennie Harris, and husband Clifford (50 years).
Left to mourn are her five children: Ron (Arlene), Michael (Angela), Brayden and Crandall, Shannan and Davinia, Derek and Kale (Desi); Brad (Wanda), Juston (Anastassia), Chelsea, Christine, Tennille and Arlan, and Jennifer; Brenda; Kelly (Jo), Mary Ann (Kevin) Hunter, Kristopher, Kolton, Brezlin and Kendall, Kathryn (Tim) Linden and Sadie, and Paul; Bob (Lori), Jessica (Josh), Dionne (Bryan), Kaitlyn and Bobbi-Lee. She is also survived by her sister Nola (Phil) and two nephews, Randy (Susan) and family and Rick; friend Dodie and special friend Don, and his family.
