Eldon Hugh Morrow was born on May 16, 1928, to Lloyd and Ella Morrow on the family farm south of Nut Mountain. Eldon grew up on the farm along with his younger sisters, Vivian and Vera. He took his schooling in the Glengariff School. In his early years, he worked on the farm with his father. He worked especially hard in the harvest season, stooking and hauling sheaves with his team of horses. In the fall of 1954, Eldon went to Georgetown, Ontario, with his parents and sister Vera, where he worked in a mushroom plant. During that time he met Ruth Cripps. Eldon and Ruth were married in Acton, Ontario, on April 16, 1955. Eldon returned to Nut Mountain with his new bride, who became actively involved in his farming operation. They had three children: Carolyn, Marlene, and Brian. In due time, they were blessed with six grandchildren. Eldon had a love for animals, namely his horses and dogs that found a special place in his heart. When Eldon and Ruth retired from farming in 1994, they moved into the Kelvington Villa. As well as his love for farming, Eldon had many other interests. Crokinole was one of the favourite family games, at which Eldon was always a champion. Eldon was well known for the excellent, mouth-watering shortbread he made. He was very involved in the Villa Community, and was highly appreciated by his fellow residents for his countless, kindly deeds and warm hospitality. For the last eight months Eldon was under the caring staff of Kelvindell Lodge. On October 27, he passed away very peacefully, with loved ones at his side. Eldon was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Ella Morrow, and his sister Vivian Ford. He will be lovingly remembered by Ruth, his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, of Kelvington; his three children, Carolyn Burnett (Dave) of Saskatoon, Marlene Wilson (Jim) of Kelvington, and Brian Morrow of Kelvington; his grandchildren, Charlene Burnett-Seidel (Jeff), Shawn Burnett, and Cody Morrow of Saskatoon, and Robert, Tyler, and Travis Morrow of Humboldt; sister Vera Morrow and sister-in-law Doris Bingham of Georgetown, Ont.; his Aunt Lula McDonald of Saskatoon; and by many cherished relatives and friends.
