We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Everett Rowlett of Nora, SK, a dear husband, father and grandfather, at Newmarket Place in Tisdale, SK.
Everett grew up on the family farm near Nora. He moved to Winnipeg for electrical trade training which is where he met his future bride and convinced her to move back to the Rose Valley and Nora region to start his own electrical business, aptly named Everett’s Electric. Everett did electrical contracting for more than 50 years in the vast area surrounding the Rose Valley and Nora district. Over the years he was engaged in numerous business endeavours and community involvements. He loved sports, playing hockey, fastball, curling and bowling and many, many games of cards. He was an avid reader and spectator of sports, do not get us started on the Jays!
Everett and Sandy had a hobby farm on their acreage in Nora raising all types of livestock, owned a bowling alley in Wadena and at times enjoyed travelling across Canada, Hawaii, Arizona, and Mexico.
Everett leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Sandy, five children and eleven grandchildren: Johanne (Gordon Schlosser), grandchildren Alesia and Brett; Wanda (Rick Rance), grandchildren Richie, Kristina and Nicholas; Bruce, grandchildren Courtney and Nathan; Trent, grandchildren Eve and Laine; and Christine (Paul Chura), grandchildren Bradley and Kristin.
He will be remembered by his three surviving brothers: Lloyd, Gerald and Roy; in-laws and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Percy, Florence and Rita and by his sister Beatrice Warner as well as by many in-laws and cousins.
