Fred was born April 19, 1928 in Humboldt, SK to Frederick and Katherine (Krauss) Housden.

Fred received his education at Stuckel, a small country school, near Daylesford, Sk. After completing Grade 8, Fred worked for various farmers and also at the Humboldt Creamery for many years. Here he met Leona Pfeil in the summer of 1954.

Fred and Leona were united in marriage on November 23, 1957 in Humboldt. They lived in Humboldt until 1960 when they moved and farmed near Lintlaw for seven years. In 1967, they sold their land and moved into Kelvington where they worked at the tire shop until they were transferred to Porcupine Plain in 1969 to operate the tire business there. Eventually, in 1974, they purchased land South of Porcupine Plain and ran a mixed farming operation and continued to raise their growing family.

In August 2001 Fred and Leona sold their family farm and retired into Kelvington. After Leona's passing in 2006 Fred moved into the Kelvindell Lodge where he remained until his passing.

Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and also his farming, but most precious to him was spending time with his wife, family and especially his grandkids.

Fred was predeceased by his wife Leona, one son, Keith, in infancy, sister Katherine Steiner and his parents Fred and Katherine Housden.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his children; Bernadette (Bob) Meszaros of Ituna, their children Charlen (Marty) Miller and daughters Keanna and Kaylynn of Regina, Tanya Meszaros (Cori Holmstrom) and children Dale and Keisha of Ituna, Nicole Meszaros of Regina and Gerald Meszaros of Ituna; Kevin (Nina) Housden of Hudson Bay, their children Shasity (Clay) Anderson, daughters Jayla and Braylin of Bethune, Ashlin Housden (Leslie Stevenson) of The Pas, MB and Taesha Housden (Tyler Martin) and son Benson of Weyburn; Daryl (Judy) Housden of Stony Plain, AB and son Michael of Fallis, AB; Heather (Randy) Wessing of Sheho and children Naomi (Chris) Turner and daughters Taylor and Savannah of Weyburn, Becky Wessing of Foam Lake, Miranda (Dallas) Koolen of Foam Lake and Ryan Wessing of Sheho; Calvin (Janice) Housden and children Taylor and Tanner of Kelvington; His sister Louise (Alfred) Stroeder, two brothers Walter (Kathy) Housden and Charles ( Shirley) Housden as well as many nieces, nephews and inlaws.

He will be forever loved and missed by all.
