Harry was born on April 20, 1927, the youngest of seven children, to Sydney and Brynhild Cooper. He passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018, at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Harry received his education at Everton School until grade 9. As a young man, he cut wood, trapped weasels and muskrats, in addition to doing everyday chores on the farm. Harry, along with his brothers, overhauled tractors, cars, trucks and any other kind of machinery. This continued to be Harry’s passion, along with creating new pieces of equipment.
On August 22, 1969, he married Phyllis Braaten. He became an instant Dad to three stubborn little Norwegians – Keith, Terry and Brenda. In 1972, they welcomed a daughter, Maureen, and their family was completed in 1973 with the birth of another daughter, Coralea.
In his younger years, Harry enjoyed curling. Card playing was a major highlight of his evenings. He continued to farm with his brothers until their passing and then farmed for awhile on his own. He then decided to rent out his land, and just kept himself busy tinkering in his shop. He was the best “fixer upper” in the country.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, Sid and Belle; sisters, Marguerite and Beatrice; brothers, Walter, Edward, Fred and Bert; brothers-in-law, George Fountain, Stanley Steffenson and Billy Wittynek; sister-in-law Myrt Wittynek and by his mother- and father-in-law, Harry and Alice Wittynek.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Phyllis; children, Keith (Lynda), Terry (Donna), Brenda, Maureen (Garry) and Coralea;  11 grandchildren: Tyrel, Travis (Rocquelle), Blair (Lyndon), Brandee, Jaret, Danielle (Jeff), Riley, Brianne, Dillan, Austin and Kolton. He also leaves four great-grandchildren: Cailen, Hallie, Kasen and Andi; as well as several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
