Ivy was born on December 26, 1930. She passed away on December 1, 2014. She lived on a farm between Bankend and Leross. She had eight brothers and sisters, all of whom are deceased except one, who is Hazel Sloat. Ivy married Henry Turner on October 22, 1949, and raised 16 children (11 girls and five boys): Blanche (John Grognet), Velma (Morris Sosnowski), Larry, Dianne, Edwina (Eugene Onyskevitch), Henry (Wanda), Josephine (John Jemmett), Joyce, Cindi (deceased), Sandra (Brian Brakefield), Janet (Floyd Neill), Kevin, Calvin, Wanda, Shawna (John Oeuray), and Dallas. On June 7, 1990, she lost her husband of 41 years. There was not a time when company came that Ivy did not serve coffee or tea with homemade cookies, cake, doughnuts, cinnamon buns or bread, etc. She loved to play bingo, slot machines and 3-Spot. She enjoyed canning the produce from her garden and making dishcloths for anyone who wanted them. Ivy worked very hard on the family farm, and later in her life she worked at the Lestock Store and then at the Muskowekan Centre. She retired from work in 1996. Everyone will miss her dearly. She is now resting peacefully with all her loved ones.
