It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of James William Geuroloff, who left this world at the age of 58, on September 3, 2023, at the Geuroloff Family Farm. James, a devoted family man and accomplished musician, touched the lives of many with his talent, kindness, and unwavering love.
James was born and raised in Hendon, where he grew up on the family farm and attended school in Wadena. As the youngest of five siblings, he was surrounded by a loving family from the very beginning. At the tender age of 14, James embarked on his music career, forming his band, and by the age of 16, he was already travelling throughout Canada, sharing his music with countless fans. His passion for music led him to study broadcasting for Radio in Regina, and he worked in Weyburn, where he continued to connect with people through the airwaves.
In 1996, James married Tanya, and together they welcomed their beloved son, Jamieson. Jamieson was the light that illuminated James's world, and he took immense pride in being a father. He cherished the role, considering it his greatest accomplishment and purpose in life. With the birth of his son, James decided to bring his music career closer to home, taking on the role of manager at the Hendon Coop Gas Station and Hendon Bar, eventually assuming responsibility for the family farm. He found great joy in caring for and raising animals, with a special fondness for dogs and most recently sheep.
Music remained a profound passion for James throughout his life, and he had an innate talent for entertaining those around him. He was equally enthusiastic about spending quality time with his family, cooking, and socializing with friends who held a special place in his heart. James's laughter and melodies will forever echo through the hearts of those who knew him.
In March 2020, James’s health began to decline. Despite the hardships, he remained resilient, supported by his unwavering love for his family and the memories of a life well-lived.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Dorothy Geuroloff, his sister Dorothy Hill, Brother Alexis Geuroloff, sister Susan Clayton, and her son Alex Clayton. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by his son Jamieson Geuroloff and his partner Kelsey Elmy, as well as his sister Marilyn Lisoway. James will also be missed by his stepdaughter Hailey Chase and her mother Corrine Stone. Additionally, he is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Rich Hill (Melanie), Angie Bloos and family, Trinity Clayton and family, Miranda Lisoway, and Dylan Lisoway.
James William Geuroloff will be remembered not only for his musical talents but also for the warmth and love he shared with his family and friends. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed.
