Julia Mann

February 1, 1932 — March 8, 2017

Julia was born at home at Cupar, Sask., Sec. 29 - Tp. 24 - Rge. 17 - W2 to Lawrence and Elsie (Thomas) Elles.
Julia was devastated losing her mother at age six. She worked hard helping her dad raise two-year-old Lawrence and Elsie. Under these circumstances, Julia was drawn to God – she would go out behind the house to pray for her circumstances to change.
Julia left home at a young age, working as a hired girl for a different family. While working for Buck and Ruth Laybourne, Julia met Ivan Mann and they were married December 24, 1953. They ran the general store, gas station and post office in Lampard for many years. Their motto was “Often doze, but never close.”
Julia and Ivan raised a family of six children. Julia loved to garden, sew, knit, and crochet. She had a way with birds. She was able to tame a pigeon. On her way to the garden the pigeon would walk on one side of her and the cat and dog on the other side.
Julia was independent, determined, and never complained about her health or all that life offered her. Her family admired all these qualities in her.
Julia was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 1991; her parents, Lawrence and Elsie Elles; sister Wilma; infant brothers, Michael, John, and Joseph; and by brothers, Bernie, Frank, Ernie, and Albert.
Left to mourn her death and honour her memory are her children, Edith (Larry) Padley, Sylvia (Dan) Rosner, Joe Mann, Jeanne (Alan) Taylor, James Mann, Joyce McLeod, and a special daughter-in-law Marleen Yaremko; grandchildren, Leslie and Michelle Padley, Dana (Rick) Reimer, Sheila (Christian) Amendt, Jordan, Ashley, Derek, and Dallas Mann, Chrissy (David) Kirk, Ariane Ahmed, Lana Madsen, James (Julianna) Madsen, Joyclyn Mann, Cortlen and Anndi McLeod; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie (Keith) Prescott and Margaret (Albert) Petreny; brother Lawrence (Liz) Elles; sister-in-law Betty (Bernie) Elles; and by many nieces and nephews.

Mom, you will forever remain in our hearts
and be dearly missed.
Not always eye to eye, But always heart to heart.
See you in another time, another place.
