JUNE MARIE PREVOST (DANIELSON) passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at New Market Manor in Tisdale, leaving a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and family. Born on June 27, 1934, in Archerwill to James and Gertrude Danielson, June’s vibrant personality was shaped by her early life in a close-knit community. Her colorful wardrobe, often filled with bright reds and purples, mirrored her joyful spirit.
June’s journey began in modest surroundings, born in the upstairs of her parents’ garage with the assistance of a midwife. Baptized in the Lutheran Church, she later embraced the Archerwill Catholic Church after her marriage. As a child, she thrived in a loving environment, enjoying Bible camp, skating, and playing games with friends. A memorable moment from her youth was hitching rides in neighbors’ trucks to attend local sports days, where she met Julien, her lifelong love. Their chance encounter blossomed into a marriage that spanned over 70 years, rich with shared adventures and a deep commitment to family.
June and Julien raised eight children and welcomed a remarkable 84 direct descendants, including 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Family was the cornerstone of June’s life, and she instilled in her loved ones the values of care, gratitude, and togetherness.
Professionally, June made significant contributions to her community. She served as a dedicated librarian, was a correspondent for the Wadena News for over 30 years, and participated actively in various local committees, including the school board. Her commitment to education was evident in her service on the Archerwill Community College Board, where she received a bronze pin for her efforts. June was also a member of the Nora Sunshine Circle, Senior Citizens, and the Red Hat Society, where she enjoyed sharing stories and jokes.
June was a talented seamstress who could whip up a new outfit for her girls when needed for an event or just because. She always had a stock of material and other sewing supplies on hand. June was also a very talented cook, renowned for her homemade buns and raspberry jam, which she lovingly distributed to her family every Christmas.
June lived in Archerwill most of her life. In 2021, after Julien’s health declined, they briefly moved to Saskatoon, and following his passing, June transitioned to Caleb Village in Tisdale, then to Rose Valley Manor, and finally settling back in Tisdale at New Market, where she lived until her passing.
June is survived by her children: Sharon Olafson, Dianne Hanson (Kelly), Julie Anderson, Angela Larson (David), Audrey Prevost (Brent), James Prevost (Pamela), and Joey Prevost. She leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will greatly miss her.
She was predeceased by her husband Julien, her parents Jim and Gertrude Danielson, siblings David Danielson, Elmer Danielson, and Josie Ericson, as well as her son-in-law Richard Olafson, daughter Debbie Anderson, granddaughter Serena Graham, and grandsons Cody Prevost and Nicholas Prevost.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tisdale Hospital and Caleb Village for their compassionate care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in June’s memory to Rose Valley Manor or Stars Air Ambulance at the addresses below:
