Lawrence was born on September 29, 1936, at the family farm north of Punnichy to Fritz and Barbara (Wiltshire) Beyer.
Left to cherish his memory are Mae, his wife of 52 years; Mae’s five children, Mike (Barb), Danny, Janice (Eric), Kevin (Lorna), and Clint (Myrna); his daughter, Laura (Cody); daughter-in-law, Moreen Beyer (Andy) (deceased); sister, Betty Hovind (Stephen) (deceased); brother, Joe (Sherry) Beyer; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence attended Dickens School. He farmed alongside his dad, raising purebred Charolais and Simmental cattle on a mixed farm.
Lawrence married Mae on September 25, 1973. Their union resulted in two children, Laura and Andy. In 1988, they moved to Creston, BC, with Laura and Andy. In 1994, they moved to Kelvington, SK, and in 2000, back to Punnichy to Gramma Beyer’s house. They enjoyed trips to Europe—visiting England, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Holland—as well as trips to Las Vegas; Los Angeles to attend “The Price Is Right” TV game show; a cruise to Mexico; Kamloops; Vancouver; and many visits to Fort St. John and Fort Nelson to see Andy’s family.
Lawrence served seven years as a Raymore Credit Union board member, eight years as a 4-H leader, 14 years as a Last Mountain Co-op board member, and 12 years as a councillor and then mayor for the Village of Punnichy.
Lawrence enjoyed playing cards, bingo, canning peaches, planting the garden at the age of 87, and fishing.
There will be a Private Family Graveside Service and Come-and-Go Gathering in April of 2026.
