It is with sadness, yet with pride of a life of sharing, giving, and loving, that we announce that our dear mother's "life journey" here on earth ended on May 18, 2015, as she was called to her heavenly home by her Saviour and Lord. Linda (Lissel) Rosner was born on the family homestead in the Prairie Rose district, on December 9, 1911, to Bertha and Karl Lissel. At a young age she began working as "hired girl" for the Thornton and Doige families in the Dafoe district and Pete Schultz in the Prairie Rose district. On March 30, 1937, she married David Rosner. It was also the toughest of the Depression years. She worked hard as they built up their farm, three miles from the Dafoe Airport, and raised a family of four children. After the sudden death of her husband Dave in 1961, she continued to farm with young son Dan. In 1973 she moved to Watson, where she made many good friends. She always had a productive garden (which she shared with others), was an avid reader and did crosswords and word find. She particularly enjoyed her flowers and trees, as well as watching different birds that "visited." The many quilts and afghans she made will continue to cover those she loved. Mom always enjoyed having her kids, sisters and brothers, cousins and friends come visit for meals or coffee. They would spend time recalling the past and have great "laughs." Mom was always there for you. In short, she was our humble mom, demanding little in life, but always giving and loving her family and friends. Her greatest joys were phone calls and visits from her grandchildren and great-grands. Linda was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, David (1961); her parents, Bertha and Karl Lissel; three infant siblings; sisters, Lydia Bertrand and Clara Koshinski; brothers, Ernest, Reinhard, William, Albert and Herman; son-in-law Lawrence Engel; sisters-in-law, Agatha Lissel and Mary Holfeld; brothers-in-law, Vic Bertrand, Reinhold Koshinski, Sam Rosner and Walter Holfeld. Left to mourn her death and honour her memory are her children, Edwin (Susan) Rosner, Emily Engel, Daniel (Sylvia) Rosner, Elaine (Wally) Muller; grandchildren, Kim (Tracy) McKechnie, Jeff (Tracy) Rosner, Kevin (Carolyn) Engel, Marlin (Eileen) Engel, Vaughn (Jami) Engel, Dana (Rick) Reimer, Sheila (Chris) Amendt, Stacy Muller and Nicole Muller; great-grands, Tyson, Kennedy and Bryce Rosner, Braydon McKechnie, Amy and Taylor Engel, Kardin and Boston Engel, Brenna and Simon Reimer, Abigail and Ryley Amendt; sister Ruth (Raymond) Laybourne; sisters-in-law, Eunice Bradshaw and Martha Rosner; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. How do we say, "Goodbye"?We don't. We just say, "Thank you, Mom, for all the lives that you have touched along the way. You have been a great mom! We have been blessed."Mom has won the ultimate battle of this earthly life and is now enjoying the eternal presence of her Lord and Saviour. You will forever remain in our hearts and be dearly missed!
