Lora Leigh Popadynetz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lora Leigh Popadynetz, who departed this world on August 2, 2023, at the age of 35. Her untimely departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

Lora was born in Saskatoon to her parents Sheila Barnes (Nee Dell) and LaVerne Popadynetz.  Lora had one daughter, Aaron who she loved dearly.

Lora had a vivacious spirit that was infectious to all who knew her.  With a passion for socializing and a love for music, her home was always alive with the sounds of her favorite tunes.  She very much enjoyed attending concerts and spending time with friends and family. 

Lora's adventurous spirit found joy in the little pleasures of life. Evening cruises with her boyfriend Joey, and camping trips were sources of happiness and memories that will be treasured forever.  Her culinary talents and her green thumb were evident in her love for cooking and caring for her plants. These hobbies brought her a lot of joy.

Lora's passing leaves an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved daughter Aaron Joy Popadynetz, her cherished friend Joey Bzdel, her mother Sheila Barnes and step-father John Barnes, her father LaVerne Popadynetz, her brother Ryan (Tammy) Tarkus and Aria Popadynetz, her sister Lisa (Chad) Quinten, Simon, and Maren Popadynetz, and step-sisters Caralea (Keith) Taylor, Kristel (Trevor) Hollenberg, Corrie (Shea) Mollerud & their families. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins also share in the pain of her loss.

In this time of grief, Lora's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have shown support, kindness, and compassion. The outpouring of love has been a source of strength during this difficult period. Additionally, the family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the dedicated medical staff who provided care and comfort to Lora.  They are eternally grateful.

A celebration of life to honour Lora’s life will be held at a later date.
