Malcolm Dani Desjarlais
February 9, 1957 – May 26, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Malcolm Desjarlais announce his passing on May 26, 2026, at the Wadena Hospital, at the age of 69 years.
Malcolm was born on February 9, 1957, at Nut Lake, Saskatchewan. He lived the majority of his life on Fishing Lake First Nation, where he built many lifelong friendships and became known for his outgoing personality, kind heart, and great sense of humour. Malcolm truly loved being around people, and wherever he went, laughter and stories were never far behind.
Throughout his life, Malcolm held various jobs, including farming and maintenance work with Saskatchewan Provincial Parks at Greenwater Provincial Park. He enjoyed visiting with people, sharing stories, and spending time with family and friends.
Above all else, Malcolm loved his family deeply. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his generosity, and the way he could make people smile. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Malcolm was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Desjarlais and Irene Smoke; his children, Lisa and Lucas; and his siblings, David, Ivan, and Linda.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Beverly, Hilda, Verna, Jason, Darren (Amber), and Clara (Steven); and his children: Meredith, Miranda, Lorenzo (Jeanine), Shoshone, Austin, Trent, and Maleesha, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
