Margaret Jane (Hanna) Pirie, 82 of Kelvington Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Kelvindell Lodge, on 5 January 2026.
Margaret was born in Islay, Alberta to William Samuel and Margaret Emily (Curtis) Hanna. She married Glen Curtis Pirie on 25 March 1967. They have one daughter, Jackie.
While Margaret had begun a career in nursing before she met Glen, she eventually left it behind to support him in his military service. A few cross-country postings and several moves later, they finally retired to Kelvington in 1992, where Margaret resumed her passion for nurturing others, working at the Kelvindell Lodge and then the Kelvington Hospital for over 17 years. Margaret’s other passions included gardening and golfing, and her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Nelson) Nicholson; grandchildren, Bailey (Jamie), Sebastian (Anastasia), Madeleine, and Reid (Jessica); great-grandchildren; Wynter, Alexander, Mia and Addison; brother, John (Nell) Hanna; brother- in-law, Keith Fletcher; sisters-in-law, Carol Wheelans and Shirley Hanna; her very special niece, Susan Fletcher, as well as many other cherished nieces, nephews and close friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband Glen; brothers, Robert "Bob" William, James "Jim" Russell, William "Bill" Ernie ; sisters, Agnes Letitia and Margaret "Madge" Matilda; many brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews; and her grand-daughter, Amanda.
