Mark was born in Three Hills, Alta., to parents, Larry and Dora Haugan. He grew up in Hythe, Alta., High Prairie, Alta., and Fosston, and attended high school in Rose Valley. He loved sports (baseball, basketball, cross-country racing, and hockey), playing board games, and spending time with family and friends. Mark worked in Tisdale; Winkler, Man.; Hythe, Alta.; and Wadena. In 1987 he started working at the Lilydale plant in Wynyard and was employed there until his passing. On August 23, 2008, he married Cindy Johannesson of Wynyard. After her untimely death on January 18, 2013, he sadly missed his soulmate. He was also predeceased by his sister, Liana Haugan, in 1980. Mark is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Dora; sisters, Carrie (daughter Sharmane and husband Mark and children, Alexie and Andrew) (and son Jordan), Louise (and children, Madisyn, Matthew and Rebecca), Annette (and daughter Sasha); brother Trevor (and wife Natalie); and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mark was taken far too soon. He will be deeply missed by so many who knew and loved him.
