Mary Katherine Haugrud, of Kelvington, SK and formerly of Fosston, SK, passed away on July 25, 2019 in Regina, SK at the age of 96. Mary was born on October 26, 1922 to Louis and Katherine Pugh in Goodridge, North Dakota.

Mary graduated from nursing at the Gray Nuns Hospital in Regina and nursed in Nipawin, Rose Valley and Spalding. Mary married Olav Haugrud on October 25, 1947 in Wynyard, SK and they raised seven children on the farm near Fosston. She was an avid card player and spent her summers in her huge garden growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables. She loved her apple trees and berry bushes.

Her husband and family were her pride and joy. She was always interested in how each grandchild and great grandchild was doing and growing. She loved to send a carload of fresh produce home every time someone came to visit.

Mary is survived by her daughter Katherine (Leo) Legare of Calgary, AB; sons Ken (Marlene) of Regina, SK, Barry (Ila) of Sherwood Park, AB, Morris (Janet) of Port. Hardy, BC, David of Edmonton, AB, Rodger of Lloydminster, AB and Garth (Caroline) of Ottawa, ON; granddaughters Lyn Yeo of Regina, SK, Melanie Willisko of Sherwood Park, AB, Eliza Haugrud of Campbell River, AB, Karlee Demierre of Florianópolis, Brazil, Amanda Haugrud of Fernie, BC and Asia Haugrud of Edmonton, AB and grandson Greg Haugrud of Calgary, AB and nine great grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Olav; parents Louis and Katherine; brothers Raymond, Rollo, Burton, Douglas and Rodger; sisters Ruth, Betty, Dorothy and Joyce and granddaughter Kira Haugrud.
