Mary Jane Kryzanowski passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 3, 2026, in Wadena, Saskatchewan.

Mary was born on January 25, 1935, on the family farm to James and Isabella Miller. She was the youngest of six children. Growing up, Mary attended Nut Lake School for six years, before quitting to work on the family farm.

On December 8, 1955, Mary married the love of her life, Joachim (Jim) Kryzanowski, in Wadena United Church. Together they raised nine children: Isabella, Dora, Mary Ann, Jim, Peter, Esther, Robert, Minnie, and Agnes. They made their home on a farm near Fosston, Saskatchewan, on the Ponass Lake grid. Life on the farm was simple, when they raised their family in a three bedroom house without running water, hauling countless buckets over the years. Mary and Jim shared 42 happy years of marriage until Jim’s passing in 1997.

More than anything, Mary cherished time with her family. She took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow into a large and loving legacy. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and was always happy to contribute her famous cabbage rolls and perogies. Mary also loved gardening, and her family remained at the center of everything she did.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Jim; her parents, James and Isabella Miller; her brothers Robert, John, and Chris; her sisters Annabel and Norma Agnes; her daughter-in-law Carla; and her great-grandson Trendon.

Mary is lovingly survived by her nine children, their spouses, 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Isabella and Bernie Fidelak, and their children Mark and Ryan; Dora and Robert Zagrodney, and their children Sherry, Michael, and Phillip; Mary Ann and John Zagrodney, and their children Adam and Angela; Jim Kryzanowski, and his children Jenna and Jared; Peter and Bonnie Kryzanowski, and their daughter Amanda; Esther and Francis Dery, and their children Derek, Amber, April, Danielle, and Justin; Robert Kryzanowski; Minnie Kryzanowski, and her children Devin, Brandon, Allyssia, and Aaron; Agnes Kryzanowski, and her children Brooke, Cindy, Bethanie, and Hudson.
