Mary Wiebensohn

On December 17, 2018 Mary Wiebensohn passed away at the age of 94. She had been a resident of the Pleasantview care home in Wadena and we thank them for their kind and compassionate care during her stay. She is predeceased by husband Herman and children John and Linda. Immediate family members including son-in-law David Young of Edmonton and niece Verna Mundell of Leroy will miss her greatly.

Mary was born at Altona Manitoba November 16, 1924. Her family moved frequently following work opportunities until the early 1940’s when she met and married Herman Wiebensohn. The couple homesteaded in the Clair area eventually having two children and establishing a successful grain farming operation. Mary is remembered as a true friend that could often be found at the bedside of ailing neighbours. The Wiebensohn family is remembered fondly within the community.

A Funeral service will be held Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 1:30 PM the Chapel of Tompkins Funeral Home in Wadena.
