Maxine Faye
Semook
January 10, 1980 — May 3, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Maxine Faye Semook on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Maxine always believed that laughter was the best medicine, and she had a special way of finding humor in even the simplest moments. She loved sharing laughs with her family and creating inside jokes that only they would understand. Even on gloomy days or during life’s more difficult moments, she could always make those around her smile and feel comforted. She cared deeply for her family and was truly an anchor of support, strength, and motivation. One of her favorite sayings was, “I love you to the moon and back,” and whenever her family came across those words on a decoration or t-shirt, they would instantly think of her.
Maxine strongly encouraged the importance of education and led by example through her own determination and hard work. Her family remembers watching her make study cards and spend countless hours studying, only stopping to prepare dinner for her loved ones. She was incredibly proud and excited to purchase her nursing clothes and begin her career in nursing. Through her dedication and perseverance, she became a true inspiration to her children and family.
Maxine was a kind-hearted friend, sister, and mother. She was a dedicated person who would always help someone in need. She was great at listening whenever you needed someone to talk to, and she would get upset on your behalf even after you were no longer upset yourself.
She loved her cats and always made sure they had their food before she began her own meal; otherwise, they would meow endlessly until she did. She loved animals in general and often said that if she could, she would open an animal shelter. She frequently fed stray cats outdoors, and one time even helped nurse a bird back to health by feeding it and making a bird bath in her backyard.
Maxine was predeceased by her grandparents, Melvin Sabit and Annie Smoke; her mother, Linda; her uncles, Bob, Jack, Lenoard, Andrew, Melvin, and Jerry; and her aunties, Rose, Angus, and Shirley.
She leaves to mourn her children, Kaylynn, Daydrian, Jace-Lynn, and Dominique; her precious grandchildren, Skylar Slippery, Bradley Slippery, Rose Smoke Sutherland, and Elora Slippery; her sisters, Sabrina and Jennifer; her father, Raymond Beaulieu; her Uncle Lloyd and Aunty Lillian; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Maxine will be greatly missed, and we will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love she shared with all of us.
