Miles was born on September 30th, 1959 in Foam Lake to Walter and Irene Dvernichuk (nee Lazorko). He attended school in West Bend and Foam Lake. After graduation he obtained his welding certificate and then his 1A license. Miles loved to drive and started at the Bankend Co-op where he worked for a number of years, with the last several years at the Foam Lake Co-op. In the spring and fall when he wasn't at work he devoted his time to the family farm. Between his job, the farm and all of his visiting, he put on many, many kilometres (MILES). He was an active member in the community and served on numerous boards including the Ag Board, Credit Union Board and Veselka Committee.Miles's work allowed him to meet many people and once you met him you never forgot him and you were a friend forever. Miles particularly loved children and was often seen giving them money to buy a little something for themselves. We wonder how he ever had any change left in his pockets. For many summers he enjoyed working security at Leslie Beach where most disputes would be handled with talking and humour. Miles was a strong, gentle man; unless you tried to beat him at arm wrestling. He loved his family and friends deeply, openly and honestly, a man of deep integrity who wouldn't hurt a fly and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He had a strong faith in God and served many years at both Edmore and Foam Lake Orthodox Churches. When it came to his relationship with his nieces and nephews, it was truly special. He enjoyed every opportunity to be at hockey and baseball games, dance recitals, and Christmas concerts (never in the forefront, always in the background, usually visiting). He had a very witty sense of humour. You would never know where a conversation was going, but it would always end with a laugh, a wink or a little elbow.Miles will forever be remembered by his parents Walter and Irene Dvernichuk of West Bend, sister Karen of Saskatoon, sister Yvonne (Colin Bowers) of Saskatoon, sister Lisa (Kelvin) Fedak and sons Derek, Dakota and girlfriend Richelle of Regina and brother Darren (Tricia) and daughters Kara and Kaitlin of Foam Lake.He was predeceased by his paternal Grandparents Nicolai and Irene Dvernichuk and maternal Grandparents Fred and Annie Lazorko.
