Elaine Norma Schultz passed away peacefully in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, in the early morning hours of June 26, 2025.
Elaine was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan, on July 16, 1942, to James and Nicki Hamill. She was the second oldest of eight children and spent her entire life in the Archerwill/Kelvington area.
On October 22, 1960, Elaine married the love of her life, Harold Schultz. They met in a café in Kelvington and, after a short courtship, tied the knot. Together, they raised four children: Lorelei, Dale, Cindy, and Kimberley. Initially, they lived in various locations around Kelvington, and in 1968, they moved to a farm located eight miles east of Archerwill. Farming became a way of life for Elaine and Harold, and together they ran the Lazy River Ranch until selling it in 2022. Elaine and Harold were married for 64 years.
Elaine lived for her family, including her seven grandchildren: Cameron (Angela) Schultz, Chelsea (Dean) Schultz, Amanda (Jim) Thurow, Matthew (Amy) Wilks, Christine (Wayne) DeGagne, Janelle (Yuliya) Torgerson, and Darcy (Amy) Torgerson. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren. Many summers were filled with the laughter of grandchildren running around the farm—and she loved every minute of it.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, James and Nicki; her sisters, Diane Wilkinson and Donna Fehr; her brother, David Hamill; her daughters, Kimberley and Lorelei; and her stepfather, Ira Ross.
She is survived by her sisters Sherell (Arnold) Leffler and Linda (Murray) Gates; her brothers Jack (Gladys) Hamill and Bob (Brenda) Hamill; her son Dale (Nancy) Schultz; and her daughter Cindy (David) Wilks. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer, and Elaine’s final resting place will be at the Archerwill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone who reached out with their condolences. A very special thank you to the staff at New Market Place in Tisdale for the excellent care they provided to Elaine.
