Paul Farber passed away on October 8, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Paul was born on the family farm west of Fosston on June 26, 1931, the youngest son of Manuel and Annie Farber. On June 12, 1953, Paul married Delila Haugan. They lived with his parents the first few years until they built their own home a half a mile away, where they raised a family of five.

Paul was very active in his community. He served as a councillor and then as reeve for a combined 34 years for the R.M. of Ponass Lake. He was very proud of the fact that he never missed a meeting.

He also served on various committees in Rose Valley, Fosston and Wadena, was school bus driver and enjoyed working for his good friend Earl Rud.

Paul loved to entertain and was full of jokes. He had his "Metro" routine, which took him to many towns and celebrations. He also loved music and sang and played his mandolin, especially for his favourite audience, his wife and his grandchildren.

His health rapidly declined after his wife's passing in 2009, spending his last few years at Weneeda Park Lodge and Pleasant View Care Home. He passed away peacefully at the Wadena Hospital with his family by his side.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Delila; infant son Bernard; parents, Manuel and Annie Farber; sister Mary Sleeva; brothers-in-law, Mike Sleeva and Vern Gaertner; sisters-in-law, Mary Farber, Lenore Kachur and Marie Edwards, and parents-in-law, George and Myrtle Haugan.

He is survived by his children, Judy (Dean) Evenson, Jeanette (Maurice) Dzama, Richard (Leonora) Farber, Brenda (Jim) Gawluk and Neil (Krista Gowenlock) Farber; grandchildren, Jason (Kariann) Evenson, Kira, Darrian and Brynn, Ryan Evenson (Shasta Burgess), Lily Burgess, Ryan's daughter Rebecca (Steven Townend) and great, great-grandson Nate, who was born a day after his passing, Marcel (Shelley) Dzama and Willem, Sheila (Blake) Symonds, Liam and Kaleb, Hollie (Tom) Lahti, Riley, Megan, Jasmine and Savanna Farber.

Paul is also survived by his brother John Farber, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Miles (Evelyn) Haugan, Paul Kachur, Gerald (Helen) Haugan, Frances (Clayton) English, Larry (Dora) Haugan, Clarence (Verna) Haugan, Dianne (Dennis) Irvine, Leroy (Shirlea) Haugan, Dennis Edwards, Marlin (Noreen) Haugan, Adele (Don) Berg, Lionel (Lesia) Haugan, Joanne (Dwayne) Walter, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
