Robert (Bob) Marshall

March 13, 1924 — November 25, 2016

Bob was born in Watson, Saskatchewan, on March 13, 1924, the youngest of nine children of James and Elizabeth Marshall.  He passed away peacefully in Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson on Friday, November 25, 2016, at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, Jessie, Jim, John, Charlie, Archie, Norman, Mary, and Stewart.

Bob was raised on the farm at the Scrip corner and attended Scrip School. His interests were farming, livestock, hunting, trapping, family, curling, hockey, cards, crib, socializing, and talking about the old times. He loved the rural life.

In the early years, Bob worked in the bush a couple of winters prior to settling down in 1952 when he married Linda Schryvers of the Valley Plain district. They settled across the road from Bob’s home on the NE quarter 33-37-15-W2 where they built a frame house and began their life together expanding their family, farm, and livestock herd.

As time passed, Bob and Linda enjoyed travels throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, along with many cruises throughout the Caribbean, Panama, and Alaska. They also enjoyed their many Saskatchewan trips with family and friends, and just seeing the countryside. Many of these travels resulted in return visits from friends and family from afar which was always a highlight.

Bob is survived by Linda of Quill Lake, his devoted wife of 64 years: son Allen (Paula) of Quill Lake; Chad (Kim), Jacob, Claire of Regina; Spencer (Andrea), Addison, Nikki, Eli of Hague; Vincent (Sylvia), Nadia of Prince Albert; Arlen (Lauren) of New Caanan; daughter Cindy (Jim) Dunn, Carolyn, Kevin of Saskatoon.
