Russell Gandzalas

July 6, 1964 — May 17, 2017

Russell Andrew Ian Gandzalas, son of Tony and Rose Gandzalas, was born in Rose Valley, Sask., on July 6, 1964. He was raised in Rose Valley and attended Rose Valley School, graduating in 1982.
Russell went to Edmonton Tech for one year. He then moved to Regina for a while and worked at the Plains Hospital. This was followed by a move back to Alberta, where he was employed as a line locator for many years, living in Beiseker, Bragg Creek and finally Airdrie. He spent his final days in the arms of his loving family back in Regina.
Russell had a great love of music and enjoyed line dancing and karaoke. He enjoyed spending time at the Legion with the many friends he made there. His biggest passion was his family. Russ always walked in with a smile and was always ready to help out or “just enjoy.” He will be missed by many.
Russell was predeceased by his father, Tony Gandzalas (in 1989) and his brother, John Gandzalas (1997).
He is survived by his mother, Rose, of Rose Valley; brother Larry (Tracey) of Regina; and several nieces and nephews: Chris and family of Regina, Dana of Regina, David of Canmore, Alta., Staci (Randy) La Brecque and family of Weyburn, Roni (Jason) Flanagan and family of Lloydminister, Sask., Tina Gandzalas (Mike) and family of Airdrie, Alta., Stephen of Airdrie, Alta., and Nicole of Lloydminister, Sask.
