Ruth was born on November 5, 1941, to Ole Anton and Aslaug Marie (Dokken) Martinson in Canora, SK. After Ruth was born the family relocated from Buchanan to Okla, SK where they continued to farm.
In the late 1950’s Ruth started writing letters to a young local guy from Okla and on July 4, 1964, Ruth marriedRudolph Trohak. On July 7, 1968, their son Reagan Todd was born. Three years later on July 2, 1971, they welcomed their daughter Robyn Nadine.
Ruth and Rudy together spent countless hours working hard on their farm. Growing grain and raising hogs and cattle. Ruth also planted a huge garden filling it with all the necessities needed to feed her family. When not working on the farm Ruth and Rudy enjoyed get togethers with many neighbors and relatives having wiener roasts, playing cards and many late afternoon lunches/ coffees where Ruth often served full meals to enjoy.
Rudy passed away suddenly on March 29, 1988; Ruth remained on the farm for a few years before eventually residing in Lintlaw. Ruth passed away peacefully at 83 years of age, on Saturday April 26. 2025 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, with family at her side.
Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Ole and Marie Martinson; her husband Rudolph Trohak; and brother Hal.
She leaves to treasure her memory her son Reagan (Sandra) and family Amber (Braden), Reese (Kristy) and their children Gracyn and Asher; her daughter Robyn (Albert) and family Andy (Jenna) and son Rhett, and Dylan (Kaitlyn) and son Caleb; as well as many dear nephews, nieces, and friends.
