Stephanie Chodak

Stephie Chodak was born on October 29, 1930, to parents Jack and Marge (Sawchyn) Polisky. She passed peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Stephie was the second of three daughters.
She grew up having to walk 1¾ miles to school in the days when you wore dresses all the time.
In her younger years, Stephie worked hard as did everyone at that time – baking bread, canning, spring house cleaning, taking everything apart and putting it outside.
People would often comment on how sweet she was. Stephie was a kind, gentle soul. She was a good mother to all of us. Home care staff commented on how they loved going to Mike and Stephie’s for visits while doing their work. We appreciate so much all home care has done for Mom over the years.
Stephie married Metro Korenchuk in October 1951. Metro died June 1990. They had three children, Georgina, Jack and Roseann. She then fell in love for a second time. Stephie and Mike Chadak were married September 1997. Stephie became Baba to Mike’s grandchildren.
Stephie was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Marge (Sawchyn) Polisky; her first husband Metro in 1990; her sister Annette Meyer; brother-in-law Art Meyer; Mike’s children, Betty and Allen; grandson Danny Korenchuk; and by many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband Mike, her children, Georgina (Leon), Jack (Wanda), and Roseann; Mike’s children, Michael, Tim (Marlene), and Louise (Wayne); her grandchildren, Twain (Cathy), Brooke, Ashley and Callie; Rory (Janelle) and Zack; Chris (Cindy); Tara and Anthony; Melanie and Nicholas; a very special aunt Ann; and by her sister Mary (Raymond).
