It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vernon James Paulson. Vern was born on July 16, 1944. He grew up on the family farm outside of Rose Valley with his parents and 5 siblings.
He married a local nurse, Debra Yousuk on November 10, 1984. Together they had two children—Nicole and Kevin.
Vern had a love for fishing and hunting, and he also enjoyed gardening. He had fun counting train cars and anticipating the loads coming back. Vernon would often recline with his coffee and reminisce about his younger years when he worked. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and always would say how he wished that he was more able-bodied so he could do more with them.
Vern enjoyed making people laugh. He had a knack for telling old time jokes that weren’t overly funny, but when he told them, they made every one laugh because his laugh was so contagious. He always managed to find the silver lining in every situation.
Vernon is pre-deceased by his wife Debra, his infant daughter Nicole, his parents Adolph and Alice, and his brothers Ernie and Clarence.
He is survived by his son Kevin Paulson (Dawna), his grandchildren Hunter James, Kruze James, Legacy Nicole, and Odin Martin James. Also left to mourn him are his sister Agnes (Selmer), and brothers Edwin (Agnes), and Gord (Lana) and numerous nieces and nephews. Vernon will also be missed by his loyal four-legged companion Sally.
He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
