In Loving Memory of

Dallas Olson

A private service will be held at a later date.

Dallas Paul Olson was born on April 19, 1942 in Spalding, SK to Olaf and Gladys Olson. He grew up in the Spalding area, attended school in Spalding as well as a year of an agriculture program in Prince Albert, SK.

On November 25, 1961 Dallas married Anna Hofmann. They lived on the Olson family homestead for 59 years.

When Dallas was younger, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and curling. He also enjoyed visiting with family, going for drives crop checking, listening to the radio and going to town for coffee. Dallas enjoyed gardening, eating the new garden potatoes, driving his new garden tractor and driving the grandkids to dance and hockey practices.

Dallas retired from farming at age 68. He had a grain mill and would clean grain for himself and his neighbors. Besides farming, Dallas was a Counsellor for the RM of Spalding from 2002 to 2018.

Dallas was very proud of his two sons and loved when the family grew to include two daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren.

Dallas will be lovingly remembered by his family: sons Tal (Brenda) of Edmonton, AB and children Jacqueline and Nathan and Kim (Dinah) of Spalding, SK and children Tyler, Cole, Ethan, Kate and Violet and his only surviving sibling Randy (Marion) Olson and children Brad and Brian (Jodie) and their children Sophie, Camden and Kylan. He was predeceased his parents Olaf and Gladys, sister Doris, brothers Norman and Richard and his dog, Grover.

Dallas’s last words of advice for others were something his mother always said, “Life’s uncertain, eat desert first”.
