Doug Dickson

It is with sadness that the family of Doug Dickson announce his passing on November 30, 2018. Doug was born in Quill Lake on October 10, 1927 to Jack and Edith. Doug is predeceased by his parents and Sister Joan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances, children Joanne (Richard), Brian (Pat) and Bonnie (Ron), grandchildren Sean, Chris, Michael, Erin, Amy, 9 grandchildren, brothers Ron and Bill, and Sister Pat.

Doug spent his entire life in Quill Lake. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He excelled at wood working, making many treasures for his grandchildren. Once he retired from farming he became a great gardener, keeping his days full. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren with whom he spent much time. He was never too busy for them, taking them fishing and hunting, teaching them how to operate farm equipment and building them anything they wanted.

In keeping with Doug’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held by the family at a later date.
