Edward George Anderson was welcomed into the world by his parents, Bennett and Georgianna, on August 2, 1923, on their farm near Fosston, SK. His younger years were spent farming, logging, and playing as much baseball as possible with his brothers, who were known as the “Benny Boys”.

Eddie’s focus changed slightly when he was introduced to the love of his life, Leverne Erickson. After their courtship, they celebrated their love and were married on July 3, 1946. Eddie and Leverne settled near Fosston working together on their grain farm, raising cattle and horses, and enjoying life for many years.

Family meant the world to them. They grieved the loss of their infant daughter, and then were blessed with daughter Barb, sons Robert “Bob” and Richard “Rick” and daughter Sandra “Sandy”. Eddie and Leverne were amazing, supportive parents that kept very busy on the farm as well as running to hockey, ball, 4-H activities, sports days, curling, and horse shows. They were always ready with a helping hand and supportive words.

Eddie will be remembered as a passionate horseman from his early days of logging and farming with the team, to hooking up his horses and buggy for many local parades and fairs. His heart was full and his smile contagious when he was giving family and friends, of all ages, buggy rides in the summer or sleigh rides in the winter.

Eddie served on committees and clubs in both the Fosston and Rose Valley communities, including being a member of the building committee of the Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. One of his proudest community accomplishments was being Chairman of the Board during the planning and building of the Rose Valley Complex and the many rodeos and activities it brought to the area.

When Leverne faced health challenges, Eddie was her pillar of strength. He provided her with care, love, and support until she passed in February 2009. Eddie continued to live on the farm and enjoyed time with his horses, his dog, and visits from family and friends. In December of 2019, he became a resident of the Pleasant View Care Home.

After living a very full life, Eddie passed peacefully on August 31, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife, Leverne, his infant daughter, his parents and his brothers Ernest, Clifford and Raymond.

Eddie’s legacy lives on with his children, Barb (Wayne), Bob (Diane), Rick (Kathie), and Sandy (Barry), and is survived by his sister Marion. He was loved and cherished by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Thanks to everyone that was a part of Eddie’s life. Today we celebrate a Special Man.
