Marion Hinderks

July 31, 1936 — February 19, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marion Hinderks.  She left us for the loving arms of the lord on February 19th at the Foam Lake Jubilee Home at the age of 86.

Marion was born in Quill Lake to George and Katherine Lebold.  She grew up with her five sisters and her brother on the family farm south of Quill Lake.  She attended the Quill Plains country school.

Shortly after graduating, she started working at the Watson Telephone Company.  It was there, that she met the love of her life, Ray Hinderks.  The couple later married and had three wonderful children, Lorraine, Garry, and Wayne.  They started their life together on a farm south of Watson.

In 1964, they decided to buy a farm South of Foam Lake.   She worked alongside Ray on their farm where she proved to be an amazing mother and farmwife.

In 1971, an opportunity came to sell the farm.  Following the sale, the couple moved their family into Foam Lake.  Marion then began her long career working in accounting and most of the other departments at the Western Hotel.  She finally retired in 2003, however, being the hard-working woman that she was, and having a love for people, she continued to work part-time at various Foam Lake businesses.

Marion loved gardening.  She always had a wonderful crop of vegetables and beautiful flowers and enjoyed being a member of the Foam Lake Horticulture Society.  She also was part of the “perogie ladies.”

Marion loved bowling and keeping busy with many other activities around Foam Lake.  She enjoyed watching curling and always waited for that time of the year!  She also loved going out for coffee with the girls.

Her family was her pride and joy. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She would cook wonderful meals for all of us, especially delicious ham dinners!  Marion was so proud of all her family’s accomplishments and proudly had all their pictures in her room right until her passing.

Left to mourn Marion are her daughter Lorraine (Hartley), son Garry (Lana), 5 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Also left to remember Marion is her sister Gloria, and her sisters-in-law Myrtle Lebold and Lillian Dahl.

She is predeceased by her husband Ray, her son Wayne, her sisters Melita, Mary, Lydia, Clara, and her brother Pius.
