Mark Mehmal

Mark passed away at his home in Kelvington, Saskatchewan on January 26, 2023.  Mark was born in Penticton, BC, January 31st, 1962. He shared this birthday with his Dad, Harry! The fourth child of Harry and Ellen Mehmal, and was the cutest little brown-eyed boy; he could charm candy from strangers by staring longingly at a candy machine and turning his big brown eyes on!

Mark will be dearly missed by his children Tyrell and Chase, his partner in life, Nickie, and his two precious grandsons, David and Harrison. He will also be missed by his father, Harry Mehmal, sister Janet (Doug Gailey) of Grand Forks, sister Diana Hodgson of Norman Wells, NT, and his Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Little Markie, Mark the fart, Buzzard Ass were a few of the nicknames his siblings, friends and Mother gave him! He never had to go far for trouble to find him, but those big brown eyes got him both in and out of a lot of it. Mark was like our Dad, he never met a stranger-- everyone loved him!  Our sister Diane can’t remember a time he wasn’t there, ever! Always planning the next adventure or misadventure, such as burning the brand new tires (Dad had bought) off the car.

Mark had many talents.  He worked as a forklift operator, bartender, hotel manager, a Swann’s salesman, and even spent some time in his career as a paver. His gift was his kindness and impish sense of humor!  He even once played the piano and sang Christmas carols at a senior’s center somewhere along his Swanns route!

Mark said when his time came, he hoped people would remember him for the love of his family and pets! AKA Penelope the guard pig, among the cats and dogs that shared his space.

Mark was predeceased by his Grandparents, Louis and Violet Weed, George and Mary Mehmal, our Mom, Ellen Mehmal, Uncle Wally Mehmal, brother Dan Mehmal and cousin David Rosellini (Smailes).

We believe there is unlimited beer and steak in heaven, so hope Mark is having a cold one with everyone there to greet him!
