In Loving Memory of

Vivian McGuire

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Vivian McGuire, on November 26, 2021 of Tisdale, SK, at the age of 99 years. Vivian was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Nick, in 2006, her parents Nick and Emelia Berge, brothers Phillip Berge and Floyd Berge, brothers-in-law Alec Johnson, Jim MacNaught, Mike McGuire, Harry McGuire, Jack McGuire and Buster Ortloff, sisters-in-law Ann Ortloff and Mary Berge, nieces LaVonne Sunderland and Eileen Johnson, and nephew Gary Johnson. Vivian leaves behind her daughter Lynda (Terry) Blundon, grandsons Bill Hatton and Jason Hatton, great grandchildren Haylee, Jaxon, Kylie and Jillian, sisters Laila Johnson and Joyce MacNaught, sisters-in-law Margot Berge and Iris McGuire, eleven nieces, three nephews, close friend Marlene Rosenthal, and many other friends.

Vivian was born on October 30, 1922 at Nora, SK and was raised on her parent’s farm at Rose Valley, SK. She went to school in Rose Valley and then went to pursue her teaching degree at the University of Saskatchewan. Vivian and Nick were married on June 4, 1943. They lived on their farm at Star City, SK and had one daughter, Lynda.

Vivian’s passion was teaching which she did from 1943 to 1979 at Prairie River, Pleasantdale, Archerwill, South Star and Star City. She enjoyed living on the farm, raising animals, gardening, cooking, and baking. Her two grandsons spent many summers visiting at the farm. Vivian travelled to the United States, Hawaii, the Philippines, and Mexico, where she enjoyed learning about different cultures.

After Nick was moved to Sasko Park Lodge, Vivian moved to McKay Towers where she enjoyed socializing and helping to organize events at the complex. In February of 2015 Vivian moved into Newmarket Manor, where she resided until her passing.

A graveside service will be held at the Star City Cemetery in May of 2022. If you desire, donations in Vivian’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
