Darcy Swiderski

Darcy Swiderski

Owner / Funeral Director

Darcy Swiderski was raised in Quill Lake, SK. After getting married and moving around for a few years, Darcy and Alphonse settled in the Wadena area where Darcy purchased Sunflower Florists in 1979 which she still owns today. In June of 1992, Tompkins Funeral Home opened as a joint venture with Terry and Barb Tompkins and Alphonse and Darcy Swiderski.


Darcy served on the Wadena Chamber of Commerce and spent time on the Economic Development Committee and the Saskatoon Health Authority. In June of 1992 she was appointed to the Central Plains Health Board where she served 12 years. She served as the elected representative for Horizon School Division from 2012 to 2016.


Darcy is very community minded. She sees the value in supporting local businesses and groups. You can often find her attending local events or supporting groups that provide service to our community.


Darcy spends her free time with her grandchildren, watching them at dance competitions, and hockey games and enjoying lake life at grandma's. She also enjoys knitting, cooking and traveling, especially with the grandkids when she can watch them exploring the world.

Brianna Fetter

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Brianna is a passionate and dedicated Funeral Director and Embalmer with years of experience in the industry. Born and raised in Englefeld, SK, Brianna's journey in funeral services began with a strong desire to provide comfort and support to individuals and families during difficult times.


After completing her high school education, Brianna moved to Saskatoon and pursued her Business Administration degree at Saskatoon Business College. Following her graduation, she was accepted into the esteemed Funeral Service program at SIAST. Determined to excel in her field, Brianna returned to Englefeld to complete her online classes and immerse herself in the world of funeral services.


In 2012, Brianna achieved her goal of becoming a fully licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Since then, she has been actively involved in the funeral industry, extending compassionate care and professional guidance to countless families throughout their grieving process. Her extensive knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine empathy have earned her a strong reputation in the field.


Currently residing in Watson, SK, Brianna finds joy and fulfillment in raising her two wonderful children, Paisley and Emerson. As a mother, she understands the importance of family and the significance of creating meaningful connections with loved ones. This perspective greatly influences her approach to funeral services, as she strives to ensure each family's unique needs are met with utmost compassion and respect.

She aims to extend her support, knowledge, and guidance to individuals and families seeking assistance with funeral arrangements. Sommer MacLeod

Sommer MacLeod

Student Funeral Director

Sommer MacLeod, originally of Quill Lake, SK, brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to her role. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, she spent 14 successful years in health care management in various roles within the Saskatoon Health Region. In addition to her professional pursuits, Sommer and her husband have been proud owners of a Plumbing and HVAC business CNS Mechanical Inc. in Wadena since 2012.


Driven by her desire to make a meaningful impact on families' lives, Sommer is currently completing her Licensed Funeral Director Certificate through Mount Royal University and her Crematorium Technician Certificate through the Cremation Association of North America. Alongside her brother, they prepare to transition leadership of Tompkins Funeral Home, a business that has been in their family for over 30 years. Outside of work, Sommer is a passionate sports mom, dedicating her free time to supporting and cheering on her children in their hockey, volleyball, and dance endeavors.


With her diverse background, entrepreneurial spirit, and genuine care for others, Sommer MacLeod is an invaluable addition to the compassionate team at Tompkins Funeral Home. Her dedication to providing kind and empathetic care extends beyond her professional life and into the cherished role of a supportive sports mom.

PJ Swiderski

PJ Swiderski

Certified Crematorium Technician/ Videographer

Paul John Swiderski, originally from Quill Lake, SK, is a versatile individual driven by his love for film and his deep compassion for others. Following his studies in psychology and political studies at the University of Saskatchewan from 1999 to 2003, he embarked on a new chapter in Vancouver. There, he attended the esteemed Vancouver Film School, graduating with a diploma in Film Production.


In 2007, Paul joined Tompkins Funeral Home, a pivotal moment that allowed him to merge his passion for filmmaking with his heartfelt desire to serve others. Since then, he has been an integral part of the funeral home, utilizing his videography skills to capture precious moments and create lasting memories for families. 


While Paul's dedication to the funeral industry is unwavering, his love for film remains a constant presence in his life. He actively engages in film festivals, seeking inspiration and staying connected to the ever-changing cinematic landscape. In his leisure time, he finds solace on the golf course, honing his skills and enjoying the outdoors. 


With a unique blend of creativity, compassion, and over a decade of experience at Tompkins Funeral Home, Paul Swiderski continues to make a profound impact, leaving an indelible mark on both the art of filmmaking and the families he serves.

Yvonne Morris

Yvonne Morris

Funeral Director

Yvonne Morris was born in South Wales, United Kingdom. She completed her schooling there then, feeling the need for adventure, she packed up and moved to Canada to become a Nanny …. Yvonne worked for Alphonse and Darcy Swiderski, helping them raise their children until 1998. She then started working at both Sunflower Florists and Tompkins Funeral Home.


Yvonne enjoys people of all ages but especially loves being a Nana, watching the children grow and enjoy new experiences. She enjoys watching their hockey games and dance competitions and traveling with them. She is passionate about helping people and is always willing to volunteer when needed. She has enjoyed living in Canada but always enjoys going back to Wales to visit family.
